We are beginning a voyage starting from this week and it’s going to be a very unique and interesting one. The name may sound ambiguous,😀 but don’t worry it’s simple and easy to understand.

Christocentric means Christ Centered. It’s my pleasure to let everyone understand the fact that the Bible is centred on Jesus. Jesus is the theme and the main man of the Bible. Every page of the Bible is pointing at one man called Jesus. Every where you’re reading in the Bible is a direct link to the person and personality of Jesus.

The old testament is the Shadow of Jesus while the new testament is the real substance of Jesus. In old testament, Jesus was masked and was unmasked in the new testament. There are many analogies and typologies used in the Old testament that were revealed in the New Testament.

In the Christocentric series, we’ll be picking a shadow in the old testament and be revealing the real substance in the new Testament.

God was the first person to shed blood in the old testament. It’s a symbolic of the death of Christ in the new testament .

The first blood was shed in the garden of Eden and it’s significance in the New Testament is the provision of the blood of the innocent lamb(Jesus) for the remission of our sins.

The First Blood shed was recorded in Genesis 3:21.
And the Lord God made clothes out of animal skins for Adam and his wife, and he clothed them.
Genesis 3:21 GNT

There is no way you will skin animal without shedding it blood.
When God was making cloth for Adam and Eve after they have discovered that they are naked and that the glory of the Lord has left them. So the animals God used it (their) skin(s) must be first killed.

It significant in new testament was that Jesus came to die for the sins of the whole world

Let me start like
God killed innocent animal to cover the sins that Adam and Eve committed that have taken the Glory that cover their nakedness. The innocent animal skin was what God used to foresight the coming of our Lord Jesus. Jesus also was innocent and was killed for Our sins in remission for our lost Glory.

1 Peter 3:18 CEV
Christ died once for our sins. An innocent person died for those who are guilty. Christ did this to bring you to God, when his body was put to death and his spirit was made alive.

The first blood was the blood of the animal whose skin was used to make clothe for Adam and Eve after the fall.
It signifies the blood of Christ shed in the new testament.

The first bloodshed was in the book of genesis 4:8
8And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
And its significance in the new testament is was in the book of Hebrews 12:24
and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

So, Jesus came to settle it with a new covenant

In Genesis 3:21
God laid the foundation for animal sacrifices by providing the garments of skin. In this passage we see the pattern for all salvation history. God took a sacrificial animal (probably a lamb), slew it before the eyes of Adam and Eve and wrapped the skins about their naked bodies. No doubt, at that time, God gave them instructions about sacrifice and covering of sins. God laid down an eternal, divine principle from which there is no deviation.
So In the new testament it represent the death of Jesus Christ even revelation 13:8 the lamb was slained from the foundation of the world..
It’s signify the death of Jesus Christ being atonement of our sins….all centered on him.

Gen 4:8, CAin shed the blood of Abel. Significance in the new testament was Jesus blood being shed for the atonement of our sin.

Cane was the first to shed blood in the old testament which signifies the shedding of the blood of Jesus in the new testament.
