  • THE SCARLET THREAD

    THE SCARLET THREAD

Welcome to the Christocentric Series, as we look at Jesus masked in the Old testament, and unmasked in the New testament.

Shout out to Adex Blessings, Elsam, Esther Bolajoko, Elsam , Fakiyesi Tolorunleke and Paul Adeyeye. They emerged as the five persons who got the first question of the week correctly.

When you hear the word “Scarlet”, what’s the first thought that drops in your mind? Red? Good. That’s the simple meaning. Scarlet means something that’s Red while Thread is a material used in sewing. Thread can be used in producing cloth, rope. Etc.

    RAHAB AND THE SCARLET THREAD

Joshua 2:18-21 – “Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of SCARLET THREAD in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto thee.

And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.

“And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.

And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the SCARLET LINE in the window.”

In this passage, RAHAB protected the spies that spied Jericho, and when they were about to escape from her house, she used a red rope(Scarlet Thread) to exit them out of her house. Before they finally left, she made a request that whenever they are to attack the land, they should have mercy on her. Their response was that she should leave the Scarlet Thread on the window of her house and whenever they will be attacking the land, the house wouldn’t be attacked no matter how furious any of the armies would be. Therefore, anyone who would in the house bearing the red thread on it would be safe.

This is a typology of what happened in the land of Egypt. God told the Israelites to put blood on their doorpost so that whenever the angel of destruction passes over, he will not hurt them. We can see that the Blood and the Scarlet Thread are having the same prophectic meaning.

    OTHER PROPHECTIC SCARLET THREAD

Genesis 3:21 – “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”

We can see here God made a cloth for Adam and Eve with a thread of blood. This is the first place that blood was shed in the Bible as asked in the question of last post. The implication of this is that the animal that was killed was innocent of the sin of Adam and Eve but paid for their coverage. So also is Jesus innocent of the Sins He died for. He knew no sin but made Himself sin for us. And the standard of the Lord remain sure that without shedding of Blood, there’s no remission of sin.

Exodus 12:5 – “Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:”

We also see this in the levitical order on the day of You Kippur(Day of Atonement). The Animal that will be used for Atonement (Covering of sin) must be a year old meaning that the blood can only cleanse or cover sin for a year but Jesus was our own lamb that was slain. He wasn’t a year old. He wasn’t 33years old. He was beyond age. Hee transcends time. He’s ageless. So, he made propitiation of our sin once, for all and forever (Gloraaaaaay).

    Hebrews 9:11-14 – “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

“For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

Are you happy to see what Jesus did for you? Shout Glory.

    SECOND QUESTION FOR THE WEEK

In the Old testament, God promised to destroy the world with _________and He restored it back with____________. (With Bible Reference)

  • YOM KIPPUR

    YOM KIPPUR

The word “Yom” is an Hebrew word which means “Day“. Kippur means “Atonement“. Merging both words, we then have Day of Atonement.

Yom Kippur is a Jewish day to atone for misdeeds and become cleansed and purified from them. On this day, the Jews observe this feast with a long fast and intensive prayer but our focus today is how the atonement is being made.

    ELEMENTS OF THE ATONEMENT

    1. An High Priest: He is the one that makes all the necessary procedures for the atonement.
    2. A Bull and a Ram: for the covering of the priest’s sins and that of his family.
    3. Two Goats : one for the Israelites’ sin offering and the other as a scape goat which will be sent to the wilderness.
    4. One Ram: for the Israelites’ atonement as well.
    5. Incense: the smoky perfume that covers the mercy seat.

    PROCEDURE

    1. Aaron will first offer for himself and his family a bull and a ram offering which is for the cleansing of sins. Leviticus 16:11
    2. He shall then take the incense with him (incense is like a pounded coil, which when put into fire gives a smoky perfume) to the mercy seat so that he can make atonement for his sin. The smoke is going to cover the whole house that when God looks down from the mercy seat He will only see a cloud and an inviting aroma and this will allow Aaron to offer sacrifices for his own sin and that of his family. Leviticus 16:12
    3. After doing this, he will go out start the process of the Israelites’ atonement. He will start by casting a lot and killing the one that the lot falls on for the sacrifice and send the other one to the wilderness of Azazel. Leviticus 16:8-10,14
    4. He shall sprinkle the blood of the slain goat for the remission of the people’s sin and shall burn the rest of the animal whose blood was taken off. Leviticus 16:15

    JESUS IN THE PICTURE

    1. Jesus is the High Priest, He’s Holy and blameless, He doesn’t need to make any sacrifice for Himself before He can have access to the Father.

    Hebrews 7:27
[27]Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

    1. The incense was grounded, beaten and battered and this represents how Jesus was beaten, battered, shattered and battered at the cross so as to grant us access to the Father.
    2. Jesus is also the slain goat that covers the Israelites’ sin but He is still alive.
    3. Jesus is the scape goat that was sent to the wilderness but He went to the wilderness (grave) and returned to give us the gift of righteousness.

Can you see how wise our God is? Jesus remains the only way out of life’s troubles and outside of Him, nobody can be saved.

Are you saved? Type “Thank you Jesus for saving me”. And if you’re not saved, then confess Him as your Lord and Savior.

Are you enlighten by this article? Type I’M BLESSED

  • THE BLOOD 2( The Ultimate Price for Redemption)

THE BLOOD 2( The Ultimate Price for Redemption)

    You’re welcome to Healingnexusblog again.

We are still on our YESHUA series. And today, we shall be considering The Mystery of Redemption.

    THE INNOCENT LAMB
God’s standard for redemption has stood sure since the beginning of the world and the standard is that without remission of blood, there is no covering for sin. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, they both used fig leaves as a covering for themselves but that alone could not cover their sins, God Himself had to kill an innocent lamb and use its skin to cover their nakedness.

    Genesis 3:21
[21]Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

The innocent lamb was a typology of the blood of Jesus that was shed for our sins; even when He knew no sin, He died for us.

    CAIN AND ABEL
What about the case of Cain and Abel? God had to receive the sacrifice of Abel and reject that of Cain because Abel’s sacrifice came through the path of the blood of an innocent sheep meanwhile that of Cain was just tilled from the ground.

    Genesis 4:2-4
[2]And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
[3]And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
[4]And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

    THE MYSTERY OF REDEMPTION

    1. Change in Family Lineage
    2. Transfer of ownership
    3. Change in Kingdom
    4. Rescue from Curse of law
    1. CHANGE IN FAMILY LINEAGE
      Romans 8:29
[29]For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

After we accepted the work of Christ via the blood, what happened in the Spirit realm was that we had the very gene of Jesus. We now have His blood running in us, whatever that is happening to the family we belonged to by blood is not permitted to happen to us again, because we are now in the family of Jesus. Generational curses, sickness, failure and whatnot are blood related, and if we cannot find it in Jesus, then we are not permitted to operate in it.

One of Jesus’ disciples told Jesus that His family members were calling Him and Jesus replied by saying that His actual family members are those that have been saved, i.e., they belong to the family of God (and family is a group of people that are blood related).

    Matthew 12:46-50
[46]While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
[47]Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
[48]But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
[49]And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
[50]For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

    1. TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP
At the point of salvation, there is a divine exchange that happens. Jesus paid our ransom to the devil and rescued us from its coven, so we have no business with the devil again neither can it have any authority on us again.
Consider a rice seller, when he sells the rice to you, can he tell you what you are to use the rice to cook, whether it is in fried, jollof or white form? No… Because the rice doesn’t belong to the seller again. Before salvation, we belonged to the devil then he had final say over our lives. It (the devil) can determine to inflict you with sickness today and affliction tomorrow but we now belong to a good Father after salvation, this was possible through the payment of the Blood.
    2. CHANGE IN KINGDOM
    3. the Local Government Chairman of a territory speak any how to the National president? Did I hear you say No? Correct.
    4. The chairman dares not speak anyhow to the president, because the president has more authority than he does. Same thing for us as believers, we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. We are both at the ‘presidency’ seat, no demon or devil that’s under us can dare afflict us with anything in their kingdom.

    Colossians 1:13
[13]Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

These are the mysteries of redemption…The knowledge of these will make you reign over the devil and his cohort.

  • KABOD

    KABOD

Welcome to Healing Nexus. Still on unlocking the healing prowess in us, today we are treating KABOD.

Kabod is a Hebrew word which means ‘Glory‘. The reason why our God is a jealous God is that He won’t and doesn’t even like to share His Glory with anyone. The reason why He created you in His image and likeness is because of His glory. God will stop functioning as God the moment He starts sharing His glory with any man. The reason why He detests the proud is because pride is a way of sharing out of God’s glory and humility is a way of returning the glory to Him.

    Revelation 4:11
[11]Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

The reason why He created you in His image and likeness is because of His glory

    James 4:6
[6]But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

    Daddy G. O.’s Encounter.
Pastor E. A. Adeboye (The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God) narrated his encounter with God. He said that God told him to use his finger to draw a man on the ground and after he did that, God told him to wipe it off again. Then He told him afterwards that that was how He would wipe him away anyday he starts sharing His glory with Him. That’s why you will see this man of God kneeling down for several hours as a sign of homage to God and that is why the miraculous flows at ease with him, he heals the sick without stress and this is because he doesn’t share in God’s Glory.

The reason why He detests the proud is because pride is a way of sharing out of God’s glory and humility is a way of returning the glory to Him.

LOOK ON US vs WHY LOOK ON US
Last week, we discussed Faith as a major tool of unlocking God’s ability in us and I opened our eyes to the words of Peter and John at the beautiful gate. See how Peter stated his word:

    Acts 3:4
[4]And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, LOOK ON US.

But Peter understands that allowing God to step in via faith is different from giving Him glory. The event after the healing of the man tells us that he was conscious of God’s glory. See this again:

    Acts 3:4,12
[4]And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
[12]And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or WHY LOOK SO EARNESTLY ON US, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

    MY EXPERIENCE
Whenever I want to minister healing, I do have this at the back of my mind, that I’m not the Healer; I’m just a channel. Even when I’m engrossed with compassion, I always tell myself that God is the Healer, I’m only ministering healing to that person to the glory of God. Most of the time when I minister healing via this revelation, I always see God work special healings. And I’ve always seen so many people crying for the healing anointing for their glory’s sake and that is why so many people do not enter into that reality.

God’s Glory is like a poison, it will kill you if you take it in.

    Malachi 2:2
[2]If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

God’s Glory is like a poison, it will kill you if you take it in.

Can you confess that “I’ll never take His glory, but rather, give Him His Glory” in the comment box?

  • THE BLOOD [The Ultimate Price for Redemption]

THE BLOOD [The Ultimate Price for Redemption]

    Ephesians 1:7
    [7]In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

To understand the nitty-gritty of the blood, you must first have a glimpse of what redemption is all about.

Redemption is a process of rescuing a captive from the hands of a captor through the payment of a ransom. This definition contains certain words which must be perfectly understood, they are:

    1. Captive: This is the person that was held bound. He is the one that did something wrong and was captured by the tormentor so as to be dealt with. In actual sense, this is talking about the human race.
    2. Captor: This is the party that is dealing with the captive. He is saddled with the responsibility of punishing the offender i.e., the human race and the captor is no other person than the devil.
    3. Redeemer: This is the person that comes to deliver the captive from the hand of his oppressor. He is the only Man that can give freedom to the oppressed via the payment of a certain amount of money called RANSOM.
    4. Ransom: This is a certain amount paid to free the captive from the hands of his oppressor.

The Redeemer is Jesus and the Ransom He paid was His BLOOD. The blood of Jesus is the payment that was made in the realm of the spirit to release us from the coven of darkness.

The blood of Jesus is the payment that was made in the realm of the spirit to release us from the coven of darkness.

Our God is a God of standard and His standard is ever true — that without the shedding of blood, sin can never be remitted. Adam put the whole world into sin and this sin would only be remitted by an exchange rate.

    Hebrews 9:22
[22]And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Blood is a spiritual medium of exchange, it allows transactions to be made in the realm of the spirit. When Man had this understanding, he began to seek for remission of his sins yearly by sacrificing the blood of goats, bulls, sheep, lambs etc. But the limitation of these was that it could not last for more than a year which implies that a goat’s blood can only pay a debt for a year in the realm of spirit, it’s blood is not everlasting for debt payment. Neither can man’s blood remit sins for long because even in man’s blood, there is sin.

    Hebrews 10:4
[4]For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Blood is a spiritual medium of exchange, it allows transactions to be made in the realm of the spirit.

But God in His mercies broke the law of nature by sending His only begotten Son to bring an undiluted blood into this world in order to remit the sins of the whole world.

HOW DID GOD BREAK THE LAW OF NATURE?
Science believes that a foetus carries the blood of his father in the mother. The mother doesn’t even give any percentage in the whole blood to the child. But we should ask ourselves, “then who mated with Mary to birth Jesus?” Nobody you say? Correct! The Bible makes us to understand that it was the Holy Spirit that came upon Mary, therefore the blood Jesus carries is not from this world. It is pure and it’s the only one that has the potency to pay all the debts once and for all.
    Luke 1:35
[35]And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

    John 3:16
[16]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The only thing that you need to do to have access to this price that has been paid by Jesus is believing and confessing. It’s this process of believing in Jesus and confessing Him that’s called being Born Again.
    Romans 10:9-10
[9]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10]For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If you’re not born twice, you’ll die twice.

  • YESHUA: The mystery of salvation simplified.

YESHUA: The mystery of salvation simplified.

Yeaaah! Our topic today is one of the names of God and it means SALVATION. And let me shock you by telling you that the name Joshua also means Salvation.

Today, I’ll be taking you through the concept of Salvation. Let me start by telling you that Salvation is God’s plan and strategy of bringing men back to Himself; this system of reconciliation was made available through what we call Grace.

    Titus 2:11
[11]For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
    Ephesians 2:8
[8]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    WAEC vs JAMB
In Nigeria, before you gain admission into tertiary institution, you must pass WAEC and JAMB but Jesus came and give you admission into tertiary institution without writing any of the exams. You didn’t work for this scholarship neither did you qualify for it, this scholarship typifies Grace…. For you are saved (Admitted) by Grace(Scholarship) through Faith not of works (JAMB/WAEC).

    AFTER ADMISSION
The fact that you’re admitted doesn’t mean that you can’t be sent out of the school again, after admission you’re expected to be a student and to continue to be a student by attending classes, writing exams etc and when you’re diligent in this, then you’ll be counted among those that will be graduating.

    DIMENSIONS OF SALVATION
There are 3 Dimensions of Salvation explained in the analogy given above:

    1. Justification (Point of gaining admission).
    2. Santification (Obeying all the school rules and regulations).
    3. Glorification (The graduation).

These Dimensions are further explained in Titus 2:11-13

    Titus 2:11-13
[11]For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,[JUSTIFICATION]

[12]Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; [SANTIFICATION]

[13]Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; [GLORIFICATION].

The moment you are admitted, the school authority sees you as a potential graduand but you are the determiner of your graduation. Can you confess this: I will work in alignment with the Holy Spirit to keep myself till the end?
