Welcome again🤗🤗 to our Christocentric Series.
Don’t forget that the last drama we checked, was at REPHIDIM which is otherwise known as MERIBAH or MASHAA
When the people of Israel grumbled again at Moses and God, God instructed Moses to strike the ROCK.
We pointed out that Jesus was the Rock. But when Moses struck the Rock with his rod, what came out was water and we want to consider this water discussion today.
Exodus 17:6
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
What made the people of Israel frown at God and Moses, was because they were thirsty. And when you thirst to a certain point and you don’t get water to quench that thirst, there’s the tendency of losing one’s life..
Jesus was the HYDROZOE, that is, Spiritual water that when you drink from it, you’ll never thirst again. This is what Jesus was explaining to the Samaritan woman at the well where Jesus was making a comparison between the ordinary water and the living water.
John 4:7,10,14
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Jesus did two things here. He called Himself the LIVING WATER and He also alluded the Prophet Jeremiah’s prophecy. Physical water requires CONSTANT CONSUMPTION FOR PHYSICAL LIFE, while HydroZoe is the water that when consumed, it is a one time offer to ETERNAL LIFE.
Jeremiah’s prophecy
Jeremiah 2:13
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
What’s the meaning of Cistern?🤔
It means ‘Reservoir’ or tank that is used to store water. They think they are wise by going for Reservoir and neglecting the Foundation of living water.
They didn’t consider the following attributes of a cistern, that:
I. It leaks
- The water that’s captured and stored, is often dirty and lukewarm
- They contain a limited amount of water.
This is the reason why Jesus was making invitations to the Jewish leader on a festive day that they should come and drink from Him. *John 7:37*
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Have you drunk from this river too? If No, He’s making an invitation to you today too.
Have you been blessed? Type HYDROZOE
