#6 You Are A Packaged Beggar.
There are different kinds of begging: direct and indirect begging. Whichever you belong to, it would render you wretched in the ministry. The first assignment of God over your life is to rip you off dependency on man. The earlier you master your lessons, the better.
Do you know why Jesus told His disciples to salute no man on their way? The second time, He told the seventy also “Salute no man”. That is, don’t lobby around any man.
Don’t greet any man in a way that could trigger pity feelings. You know that style: “I didn’t ask o, nah dash they dash me”.
God once told me: when I see a begging/lobbying pastor, I say: “he can take care of himself”.
What’s the biggest amount you ever gave to a beggar?
Jesus told His disciples: “You have little faith”. The two times I sent you out, “Did you lack anything?” They said NO, nothing!
Do you get it?
Jesus said: take no bread along. Take no extra clothes along. Take no purse along. Do not patronize any man.
That’s a test.
Jesus was setting them up.
If they could pass the “greet no man” test, they will be able to build faith for their finances and eventually for the great task of the ministry.
Money is the least of all things involved to have a great ministry but if you pass the money test, you will do well in other areas.
