QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS with PASTOR IFE ADETONA (1)

Question 1:Why did the Lord want to kill Moses in Exodus 4:24?

Answer: Great question. Let’s read the scripture:

    > Exodus 4:24 (KJV): “And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him.”

Now, if you read further, you’ll notice a switch in the terminology:
    > “Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son… so He let him go…”

Here, the capital “LORD” is later referred to as “He”, indicating possibly an angelic representation of God. In the Old Testament, the term “Angel of the Lord” is often used interchangeably to refer to a an angwho speaks with the authority of God.

Isaiah 63:9 refers to “the angel of His presence”, which some interpret as the same divine figure that interacts with humanity on behalf of God. Some believe this angel is a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ; others see it as a specific angel assigned to represent God’s presence.

The Lord (or the angel) sought to kill Moses because Moses had neglected to circumcise his son—a direct violation of the covenant God gave Abraham. This wasn’t just cultural; it was a divine command. Moses’ wife, Zipporah, resisted due to her Midianite background, but when she saw Moses’ life was at stake, she complied.

This was not just punishment, but a divine action to preserve covenant integrity before Moses could lead Israel.

Question 2:What is the difference between grace and truth, and how do they relate?

Answer: This question arises from scriptures like:

John 1:14: “…full of grace and truth.”

John 1:17: “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”

    Let’s use an analogy:

Imagine “law” as a system that says: “You must pass JAMB to gain admission.”

Then a new president comes and says: “You don’t need JAMB anymore; just be willing to learn.”

Both groups of students end up in the same class. Some still boast about their JAMB results, but in reality, JAMB was removed.

Grace is the new policy—getting admission (salvation) without writing JAMB (law). Truth is the clarification that this new system was always God’s original plan.

So grace gives unmerited favor; truth affirms that this method is authentic and was always intended. Grace and truth work together—not against each other.

Question 3:If we are seated far above principalities, why do demons still access and oppress believers?

Answer: Excellent point. Spiritually, we are seated with Christ far above principalities (Ephesians 2:6), but physically, we still live in a fallen world governed by spiritual laws.

Think of it like buildings on reclaimed land (e.g., sand-filled waters in Lagos). The water is still there underneath, but engineers have systems to manage it.

Believers are like those buildings. Spiritually, they stand above demonic influences. But without proper spiritual control systems—understanding, authority, faith, and maturity—those demonic “waters” can still seep in.

Even Paul mentioned a “messenger of Satan” afflicting him (2 Corinthians 12:7), and Jesus Himself said:

    > “In this world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

So yes, demons have limited access on Earth because the Earth is still under the influence of the enemy until full redemption at Christ’s return. But we are empowered to overcome by knowing our authority.

Question 4:Why are people not struck dead today like Ananias and Sapphira? Has grace made God change?

    Answer: Let’s break this down:

    1. Did God kill Ananias and Sapphira directly?

Not necessarily. The text implies Peter may have acted in zeal, and the deaths were a consequence of that spiritual atmosphere. Peter wasn’t shocked by their deaths. He seemed to expect them.

    2. Has God changed?

No. Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

However, the administration of His judgment differs in dispensations. In the Old Testament, judgment was often swift to uphold covenantal purity. In the New Testament, under grace, God is patient, not wanting anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9).

    3. Does grace mean no consequences?

No. It means there’s mercy, but also discipline. God still judges, but He now does it with the goal of restoration, not destruction.

Question 5:God is a jealous God. Yet jealousy isn’t a fruit of the Spirit. Should Christians be jealous?

Answer: God’s jealousy is holy and righteous—a deep passion to protect His relationship with His people, not envy or insecurity.

Human jealousy, as described in Galatians 5, is usually rooted in sin—envy, selfishness, or comparison.

So, no, Christians should not model carnal jealousy. But we can have godly zeal, a passionate commitment to God’s ways and His people.

    Question 6:Can God kill?

Answer: Yes, He can, but the question is: Does He delight in killing?

Absolutely not. Ezekiel 33:11 says, “I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked.”

There are instances in scripture where God allowed or commanded death, but always for justice, covenant, or protection of His purpose. Under grace, He still has the power to judge, but His mercy delays destruction.

Now, there is no tribe of people that ever died in the Old Testament whose cup wasn’t full. God said, “I want to go to Sodom again.” The angel of the Lord’s presence said, “I want to go to Sodom and Gomorrah to see if the things I heard are true.”

Why was God checking Sodom? Yet Israel, the most sinful people on earth, remained. Do you know why God allowed the Israelites to spend 430 years in Egypt? It was because He wanted to give the people of Canaan a chance to repent. He was watching to see if their generation would turn away from sin.

But they did not. So God planned, “I will replace these people with the Israelites, and they will teach righteousness to the whole world. That way, there would be no need to kill anyone anymore.”But that plan didn’t work.God then said, “Okay, for the sin of man, which gives permission…”

On God’s Justice and the Accuser:

There is also an accuser—Satan—who goes to God and says, “These people are supposed to die.”

    God will ask, “Why?”

Satan responds, “Because in your book, it says the soul that sins shall die.”

God replies, “But they have paid for their sins.”

Then Satan asks, “Who paid for them?”

And God says, “I will send my Son to pay.”

Jesus says, “In the meantime…” Remember, Abraham once said to God, “Will the Judge of all the earth not do what is just?” This doesn’t mean “will He kill or spare,” it means “will He do what is right.”

So the killings in the Old Testament were according to the law of God.

    Analogy of a Judge:

If a judge sentences a criminal to death by hanging, who killed the person?

Was it the judge? Was it the law?

The law killed him—it was the consequence of his sin.

So if you become a judge and someone is guilty, but you set them free unjustly, that’s wrong. That’s not justice.

God is just—yesterday, today, and forever. Whether that judgment favors you or not, He remains just.

On Men of God Killing People:

The issue of a man of God killing people is complex. Sometimes demons may be involved; sometimes angels.

Take Elijah as an example. When he saw the 51 people, he said, “If I be a man of God, let fire come down.”

God didn’t necessarily ask Elijah to do that, even if the people were guilty. Their main sin wasn’t talking to Elijah—it was the inherited sin of Adam. But Elijah pronounced judgment by his own wisdom.

Because of that, Elijah wasn’t allowed to live long.

Even David, though he fought battles for God, was not allowed to build the temple because of the blood on his hands.

So prophets who curse or call down judgment may see results, but they often don’t live long. Unless they are very poor and their curses are more like complaints—but generally, strong ones who curse or call down judgment don’t live long.

    On God’s Jealousy:

Now, you asked about jealousy. If someone has a husband or wife and that spouse cheats, is the other person not permitted to be jealous?

So when God says, “I am a jealous God,” it means He doesn’t want you to have another god beside Him. It’s like a man who has a wife and the wife has a side guy—of course, the man is permitted to be jealous.

God is jealous for us. We’ve claimed to be His own. He’s our husband—we are His bride. He has every right to be jealous.

But this jealousy is not about money or riches. God isn’t jealous because you passed an exam. God doesn’t compare Himself with humans like that.

  • THE GREATEST SEARCH ENGINE AND THE SMARTEST AI BY PAUL ADEYEYE

THE GREATEST SEARCH ENGINE AND THE SMARTEST AI BY PAUL ADEYEYE

Google is a search engine that has dominated the internet for many years. It has a sophisticated algorithm that analyzes and ranks web pages according to their relevance and quality for any search query.

To do this, Google relies on automated programs called spiders or crawlers that scan the web and gather information about billions of web pages. These programs follow links from one page to another and index the content and metadata of each page. Google’s search engine has been praised for its speed, accuracy, and user-friendliness since its launch in 1998.

However, Google is not the only player in the field of AI. Recently, a new generation of AI models called GPT has emerged, which can generate natural language texts on various topics and tasks. The first version of GPT was released in 2018 and had 117 million parameters, which are the numerical values that determine how the model processes the input data. The second version, GPT-2, was released in 2019 and had 1.5 billion parameters. The third version, GPT-3, was released in 2020 and had a staggering 175 billion parameters, making it the largest language model at that time.

GPT-3 was able to produce coherent and fluent texts on a wide range of domains and tasks, such as answering questions, writing essays, composing emails, creating summaries, and generating stories. However, it also had some limitations, such as factual errors, biases, repetitions, and ethical issues. Therefore, researchers continued to improve the model and released GPT-3.5 in 2022, which had 350 billion parameters and addressed some of the shortcomings of GPT-3.

The latest version of GPT is GPT-4, which was released in 2023 and has an astonishing 100 trillion parameters. This makes it the most versatile and powerful AI model ever created. GPT-4 can generate texts on any topic and task with high accuracy and creativity. It can also translate languages, generate images, compose music, code programs, and create games. GPT-4 is considered a breakthrough in the field of AI and a potential threat to human intelligence. In the future, we can expect more innovations and inventions that will challenge and transform our world.

However, I have come to realize that GPT is not the smartest nor the greatest AI. I have come to discover the greatest search engine and the smartest AI. No matter the advancement in the human race, they cannot create anything too close. This search engine when engaged can help you to create the next greatest invention in human history. This search engine can get its data from an infinity source. This search engine does not make mistakes, this search engine knows the past, present, and future. This search was not created, it was given. Are you curious to know what this search engine is? The truth is, it is not what; it is Who. The search engine is not a thing, it is a person. Yeah, the Holy Spirit.

  • DIVISION OF LABOUR

    DIVISION OF LABOUR

Division of Labour is a management term which means that a person does not do all the work by him/herself but delegates it to others to do for him/her.

Our God is a wise planner, and He is strategic in His planning, He doesn’t do all the work Himself but has given some part of His work to us.

This is the ultimate division of labour by God:

    Acts 10:38
[38]How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

God’s portion of the Labour: Anoint Jesus with the Holy Ghost

Holy Ghost’s portion : To anoint Jesus

    Jesus portion : Healing all

    Devil’s portion : Oppressing all

Our portion: Partner with Jesus in Healing all

    Ephesians 2:6
[6]And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

So, we are meant to heal the sick and not even to fall sick, that’s why we are to lay our hands on the sick and they shall be healed.

Can you confess your reality by typing:I AM FOR THE HEALING OF NATIONS?

  • KABOD

    KABOD

Welcome to Healing Nexus. Still on unlocking the healing prowess in us, today we are treating KABOD.

Kabod is a Hebrew word which means ‘Glory‘. The reason why our God is a jealous God is that He won’t and doesn’t even like to share His Glory with anyone. The reason why He created you in His image and likeness is because of His glory. God will stop functioning as God the moment He starts sharing His glory with any man. The reason why He detests the proud is because pride is a way of sharing out of God’s glory and humility is a way of returning the glory to Him.

    Revelation 4:11
[11]Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

The reason why He created you in His image and likeness is because of His glory

    James 4:6
[6]But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

    Daddy G. O.’s Encounter.
Pastor E. A. Adeboye (The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God) narrated his encounter with God. He said that God told him to use his finger to draw a man on the ground and after he did that, God told him to wipe it off again. Then He told him afterwards that that was how He would wipe him away anyday he starts sharing His glory with Him. That’s why you will see this man of God kneeling down for several hours as a sign of homage to God and that is why the miraculous flows at ease with him, he heals the sick without stress and this is because he doesn’t share in God’s Glory.

The reason why He detests the proud is because pride is a way of sharing out of God’s glory and humility is a way of returning the glory to Him.

LOOK ON US vs WHY LOOK ON US
Last week, we discussed Faith as a major tool of unlocking God’s ability in us and I opened our eyes to the words of Peter and John at the beautiful gate. See how Peter stated his word:

    Acts 3:4
[4]And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, LOOK ON US.

But Peter understands that allowing God to step in via faith is different from giving Him glory. The event after the healing of the man tells us that he was conscious of God’s glory. See this again:

    Acts 3:4,12
[4]And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
[12]And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or WHY LOOK SO EARNESTLY ON US, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

    MY EXPERIENCE
Whenever I want to minister healing, I do have this at the back of my mind, that I’m not the Healer; I’m just a channel. Even when I’m engrossed with compassion, I always tell myself that God is the Healer, I’m only ministering healing to that person to the glory of God. Most of the time when I minister healing via this revelation, I always see God work special healings. And I’ve always seen so many people crying for the healing anointing for their glory’s sake and that is why so many people do not enter into that reality.

God’s Glory is like a poison, it will kill you if you take it in.

    Malachi 2:2
[2]If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

God’s Glory is like a poison, it will kill you if you take it in.

Can you confess that “I’ll never take His glory, but rather, give Him His Glory” in the comment box?

  • THE BLOOD [The Ultimate Price for Redemption]

THE BLOOD [The Ultimate Price for Redemption]

    Ephesians 1:7
    [7]In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

To understand the nitty-gritty of the blood, you must first have a glimpse of what redemption is all about.

Redemption is a process of rescuing a captive from the hands of a captor through the payment of a ransom. This definition contains certain words which must be perfectly understood, they are:

    1. Captive: This is the person that was held bound. He is the one that did something wrong and was captured by the tormentor so as to be dealt with. In actual sense, this is talking about the human race.
    2. Captor: This is the party that is dealing with the captive. He is saddled with the responsibility of punishing the offender i.e., the human race and the captor is no other person than the devil.
    3. Redeemer: This is the person that comes to deliver the captive from the hand of his oppressor. He is the only Man that can give freedom to the oppressed via the payment of a certain amount of money called RANSOM.
    4. Ransom: This is a certain amount paid to free the captive from the hands of his oppressor.

The Redeemer is Jesus and the Ransom He paid was His BLOOD. The blood of Jesus is the payment that was made in the realm of the spirit to release us from the coven of darkness.

The blood of Jesus is the payment that was made in the realm of the spirit to release us from the coven of darkness.

Our God is a God of standard and His standard is ever true — that without the shedding of blood, sin can never be remitted. Adam put the whole world into sin and this sin would only be remitted by an exchange rate.

    Hebrews 9:22
[22]And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Blood is a spiritual medium of exchange, it allows transactions to be made in the realm of the spirit. When Man had this understanding, he began to seek for remission of his sins yearly by sacrificing the blood of goats, bulls, sheep, lambs etc. But the limitation of these was that it could not last for more than a year which implies that a goat’s blood can only pay a debt for a year in the realm of spirit, it’s blood is not everlasting for debt payment. Neither can man’s blood remit sins for long because even in man’s blood, there is sin.

    Hebrews 10:4
[4]For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Blood is a spiritual medium of exchange, it allows transactions to be made in the realm of the spirit.

But God in His mercies broke the law of nature by sending His only begotten Son to bring an undiluted blood into this world in order to remit the sins of the whole world.

HOW DID GOD BREAK THE LAW OF NATURE?
Science believes that a foetus carries the blood of his father in the mother. The mother doesn’t even give any percentage in the whole blood to the child. But we should ask ourselves, “then who mated with Mary to birth Jesus?” Nobody you say? Correct! The Bible makes us to understand that it was the Holy Spirit that came upon Mary, therefore the blood Jesus carries is not from this world. It is pure and it’s the only one that has the potency to pay all the debts once and for all.
    Luke 1:35
[35]And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

    John 3:16
[16]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The only thing that you need to do to have access to this price that has been paid by Jesus is believing and confessing. It’s this process of believing in Jesus and confessing Him that’s called being Born Again.
    Romans 10:9-10
[9]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10]For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If you’re not born twice, you’ll die twice.

Are you born again? Then acknowledge in the comment box by typing, I HAVE BEEN REDEEMED BY THE BLOOD.

Are you ready to be born again?

  • UNLOCKING THE HEALING POWER IN YOU: FAITH

UNLOCKING THE HEALING POWER IN YOU: FAITH

Hello Dear Reader, You’re welcome again this week to this blog. Hope you’ve been enjoying this series so far. Today, we are considering the subject of Faith.WATCH OUT!!!!

To understand this concept very well, we need to first understand the fact that we have different types of faith in the Bible which are:

     1. Saving Faith
    2. Receiving/Living Faith
    3. Fruit of Faith
    4. Gift of Faith

    SAVING FAITH
    Ephesians 2:8
[8]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

This is the type of Faith that brings us to the family of Christ. It’s simply believing in the birth, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    2. LIVING FAITH
    Hebrews 10:38
[38]Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in

This is the type of Faith we use in carrying out daily activities.

    3. FRUIT OF FAITH
This is the type of Faith that’s called faithfulness in the list of the fruit of the Spirit.
    Galatians 5:22
[22]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

    4. GIFT OF FAITH
This is the type of Faith that’s classified as part of the power Gifts in the list of the gifts of the Spirit.
    1 Corinthians 12:9
    [9]To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

It’s this gift of Faith that is responsible for the healing operation, it helps to either minister or receive healing.

It was in operation in the live of the woman with the issue of blood, for Jesus Himself testified about it.

    Mark 5:34
[34]And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

It was also this Faith that was at work in the story of Peter and John at the beautiful gate. Peter when he was full of faith told the man that he should look on them because he’s having the ability to heal the sick and after that the lame man was leaping for joy.

    MY EXPERIENCE
I was about to sleep one night when I received a call from one of my friends and she told me that she was having excruciating tooth pain and that I should pray with her. I was down and not feeling any urge to pray but then, the Faith in whom(Jesus) I carry welled up in me and I prayed with her. And the following day when I called her, she was full of joy and she testified that she was planning to go to the hospital before but she’s no more going.

You have to believe that you carry the life of God and you can transmit it anyday anytime, the only thing you need is to believe.

    John 14:12
[12]Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Jesus says you’ll do greater works of healing among others but the only requirement is to believe. If you believe you can do the work of Jesus and beyond type ‘I BELIEVE’ .

  • YESHUA: The mystery of salvation simplified.

YESHUA: The mystery of salvation simplified.

Yeaaah! Our topic today is one of the names of God and it means SALVATION. And let me shock you by telling you that the name Joshua also means Salvation.

Today, I’ll be taking you through the concept of Salvation. Let me start by telling you that Salvation is God’s plan and strategy of bringing men back to Himself; this system of reconciliation was made available through what we call Grace.

    Titus 2:11
[11]For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
    Ephesians 2:8
[8]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    WAEC vs JAMB
In Nigeria, before you gain admission into tertiary institution, you must pass WAEC and JAMB but Jesus came and give you admission into tertiary institution without writing any of the exams. You didn’t work for this scholarship neither did you qualify for it, this scholarship typifies Grace…. For you are saved (Admitted) by Grace(Scholarship) through Faith not of works (JAMB/WAEC).

    AFTER ADMISSION
The fact that you’re admitted doesn’t mean that you can’t be sent out of the school again, after admission you’re expected to be a student and to continue to be a student by attending classes, writing exams etc and when you’re diligent in this, then you’ll be counted among those that will be graduating.

    DIMENSIONS OF SALVATION
There are 3 Dimensions of Salvation explained in the analogy given above:

    1. Justification (Point of gaining admission).
    2. Santification (Obeying all the school rules and regulations).
    3. Glorification (The graduation).

These Dimensions are further explained in Titus 2:11-13

    Titus 2:11-13
[11]For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,[JUSTIFICATION]

[12]Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; [SANTIFICATION]

[13]Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; [GLORIFICATION].

The moment you are admitted, the school authority sees you as a potential graduand but you are the determiner of your graduation. Can you confess this: I will work in alignment with the Holy Spirit to keep myself till the end?
