By the special grace of God, I’ve lost count of those that I’ve baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, both physically and on WhatsApp. Holy Ghost baptism is as simple as confessing Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. All you need is to follow the steps I will take you through shortly.

STEP 1: SALVATION

Romans 10:10
[10] For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The only prerequisite to getting baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues is to be saved. Accept Jesus as Your Lord and Saviour. If you’ve done that before, you are qualified, but if you are yet to, say after me:

Lord, Jesus! I believe that you died and rose up on the third day so that I can have eternal life. I confess you as my Lord and saviour, come into my heart and give me the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, we pray. AMEN.

STEP 2: YOU HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT INSIDE OF YOU

What happened in the realm of the Spirit which you may not be aware of is that the moment you confess Jesus as your saviour, the Holy Spirit started to live in you. Your body became the temple of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 3:16
[16] Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

The fact that He is living in you means that He will speak to you from within (your mind) and not from outside (your ear).

STEP 3: YOU ARE TO SPEAK

At the point of Holy Ghost baptism, you must first understand that there are 2 parties involved: You and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is to work within, and you are to align with Him by working without. Check this verse of the Bible:

Acts 2:4
[4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The work of the Holy Spirit is to GIVE UTTERANCE (that is your tongues), and your work is to SPEAK IT. I was once held in this bondage where I thought that I would be the one to open my mouth, and the Spirit would be sending out the tongues from my mouth, but I was later delivered. You will be the one to do the speaking, not the Holy Spirit.

STEP 4: HOW THE UTTERANCE WILL COME

The utterance will be dropped in your heart, it will not be English, it won’t be your mother’s tongues, it will be like rubbish , it will not make sense, it will also be as if you are forming it in your mind, you will never understand it. Paul also said it in the Bible:

1 Corinthians 14:2
[2]For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for NO MAN understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

NO MAN (yourself inclusive) can understand you, you don’ need to bother with the meaning now but as you grow, you will get to a time where by you will know the meaning to some of your tongues by the Spirit. You may be speaking what you don’t understand but before God you are speaking MYSTERIES.
Ask Everyone and anyone that flow easily in tongues today, they will tell you that they don’t know the meaning when they started too but the power that lies in it became tangible to them as they grow in it.

STEP 5: IT IS AS THE SPIRIT WILLS

The Holy Spirit is the baptizer and He works as He wills, He may decide to give you your tongues like a phrase, He may decide to give you in form a sentence and it may even be in syllables, whichever way it may come, just ensure that you grow by it, also as I will be leading you to pray, you may be feeling fire around you, you may be shaking, at times people will be feeling electrify and you may not feel anything , no matter the way He wishes to work with you, just ensure that you focus on the utterance that will be dropped in your heart and speak it out .

STEP 6: YOU WON’T BE UNCONSCIOUS

Acts 2:13-14
[13]Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
[14]But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

You won’t be unconscious when you being filled, you will be fully aware of what’s going on in your environment. Peter at the upper room heard what people were saying when they were speaking in tongues , had it been that he was unconscious , he won’t have heard them .

STEP 7. LET US PRAY

Be in a conducive environment, stay away from distraction, pray that the Holy Spirit should come and fill you up, sing some worship song and keep quiet after some minutes, then began to watch out for the utterance in your mind, as it drop, then speak out .
